Organic Long Term Food Storage

There are a lot of long term food storage (LTFS) suppliers out there, and it can be daunting to figure out which one is the best for your family. I am fortunate to live in an area where the LDS have a very large food cannery center, and on occassion, my friends and I have gone in and canned and labeled foods for our LTFS. I've purchased salt, sugar, wheat, carrots, hot chocolate, and various other items at well below the market price at the time, and it was fun canning it with friends. If you have an LDS cannery near you, you may want to contact them and see if they will allow you to purchase some of your basics.

Over the years, my focus has changed. I learned what my family likes and dislikes, and have tried to tailor my food storage to suit our particular needs. I found that by buying cases of product when it is on sale throughout the year has paid off. Prices have steadily risen, but by rotating my LTFS items into our diet, we have consistently been able to eat at last year's sale prices instead of the current prices - a considerable savings. So keep your eyes peeled for sales, and coupons for items that you want to add to your LTFS. Don't forget paper and plastic products. Toilet paper, saran wrap, cleaning products, toothpaste, sweets, playing cards, and other items are often overlooked when planning your LTFS. I also suggest that you don't make your LTFS too drastically different from your regular diet. Otherwise, your family could be very uncomfortable, or even sick, at the worst possible time.

That brings me to the subject of organic foods. My family has made certified organics a large part of our diet. We believe it is important in maintaining proper health and a strong immune system. I suppose in a dire situation, I would be grateful for anything to eat, but since I have time to plan, I will get what I want... not just calories to keep me alive. Personally, I want to thrive - not just survive. Our Survive2Thrive 40 day food storage kit is a fantastic starting point, and might be all the LTFS that you need.

Survive2Thrive

STORABLE FOOD CAN (and should)BE HEALTHY

Good readiness must include storage of high quality foods that will build us up rather than tear us down. Much of the storable food available is full of bad fats, salt and sugar and even MSG, not to mention high levels of pesticides and nutrient poor refined foods.

We grew tired of all other preparedness pails loaded with ingredients detrimental to your health. The Survive2Thrive 100% Organic Vegetarian Grab n' Go Food Supply is perfect for those people looking to enhance their stored foods with quality, nutritious, real food.

NOW IS THE TIME TO BE PREPARED
With hurricanes, tsunamis, floods, droughts, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, plus the man made disasters that often follow or worsen their effects, in addition to all the economic turmoil, we are facing some challenging times. If we are not well prepared, we will most certainly regret it.

GREAT, BUT I NEED MORE...

While the Survive2Thrive pail is a great start, and ideal for a bug out kit, if you have a large family, or are preparing for a large group, it could be very expensive if your plan is to have 1 - 3 years of LTFS on hand. If that describes you, then you will really like what we have planned. We have contacted some of the largest organic ingredient suppliers in the country and have arranged to purchase pallets of a number of varieties of beans, grains, seeds, nuts, dried vegetables, and fruits, as well as dried cane juice. Our plan is to purchase at least 1000 lbs - 2000 lbs of each, and then repackage it for our customers. Our goal is not to compete with other food suppliers offering LTFS, but simply to help our existing customers get prepared with the highest quality organic foods, in the shortest time possible, for the best price possible. I will not sell this to resellers - this is exclusively for my customers who are willing to pre-order 6 months - 3 years worth of organics foods for their personal LTFS. I only plan to mark this up 10% over my ACTUAL material costs, so if you wish to be a part of this, you will be getting this for far below most dealer's cost. I have no doubt that I will upset a lot of folks in this market who make a living doing this, but I am genuinely concerned about helping my customers prepare, and I don't think  LTFS should be reserved for the well-off or the government. I am not passing on the labor costs; the pricing will be based completely on the raw costs of food, shipping, and packaging!

This will happen fairly quickly, so if you are interested in participating in this, here's what you need to do to participate:
  1. Send me an email telling me that you would like to participate in the LTFS bulk organic group purchase.
  2. Tell me how many people are in your family, and how many months of organic LTFS you are interested in purchasing. Let me know your shipping address and phone number. (If you have extended family, close friends, or wish to give this as a Christmas gift, that's OK, within reason. As I said, I am essentially doing this for cost and have no interest in supplying someone who wants to resell this.)
  3. I will send you a list of foods that we plan to purchase. If there are any items that you do not want, let me know ASAP.
  4. Tell me about any allergies that any in your group have.
  5. Let me know the approximate time frame that you would like your shipment delivered. I understand that some people may not have a lot of money, and it may take some time for them to scrape together the funds to do this. So if I can accommodate you, I will.
  6. My goal is to get the individual daily cost under $4 ( per meal cost  under $1 and the per snack cost under $.50 ) without sacrificing nutrition or variety. I have never heard of anyone offering a years worth of organic LTFS for such a low price, but this is my goal.
  7. I don't know what shipping will cost, but if you are ordering a 6 month supply for 4 adults, I estimate that it will likely weigh around 700 lbs - 800 lbs and would ship on a pallet as freight, so the shipping might run between $120 - $190 depending on where you live. That is just an ESTIMATE, but I will get firm prices in the next couple of weeks. If fuel prices rise, this cost will rise with it.
  8. Once enough folks pledge an order that will warrant a major bulk purchase, I will close out the pre-order. At that time, I will contact you with a quote for what will be provided, what the cost will be, the estimated weight, cost to ship, and approximate delivery time. If it all sounds good to you, send me a second email accepting the price. If everyone agrees, I will place the order. If some drop out, I will need to postpone until I can replace them.
  9. After we have full commitment, I will place the order and invoice you for your order.
  10. Once the pallets arrive, we will process the orders and ship them out ASAP. That's it. We feel like this is the best opportunity available to guarantee that your family will have healthy, delicious foods, at such a low price. At these prices, I don't believe any of my customers can afford not to purchase at least a year's worth of organic LTFS. The cost of organic food will never be lower than it is today. This is your opportunity to buy it at less than market price, and guarantee that you will eat healthy, regardless of what the economy does.
So if the Survive2Thrive isn't large enough to serve your needs, or you just want to get a little extra and you are interested in participating in the bulk group purchase, send an email to LTFS@freshwaterorganics.com. Time is of the essence, so as soon as we get enough folks committed to order full pallets of all varieties, we will close out participation. If we get enough interest in a 2nd purchase, we may offer another buy, but at this time, the only way to guarantee that you will be able to participate is to send me an email now.

Good luck, and happy prepping.
